This turnkey instrument is built on a 6' optical table
with a sliding door
radiation enclosure. The x-ray generator is a microfocus
sealed tube source and the incident beam is collimated with a
multilayer mirrors and motorized scatterless slits. The sample
stage provides manual or motorized adjustments of rotation,
translation (X-Y-Z) and tilts. Either a solid state pixel
array or an image plate detector can be used. This is a lower
cost alternative to the rotating anode instrument described above
and can be used for studying biological, polymeric and nanostructured
materials.
